Brunch – A weekend highlight
Brunch has taken the Dublin weekend scene by storm in the last year or so, but did you know that we do a mean brunch here at The Waterloo?
The definition of brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch usually eaten during the late morning or early afternoon. Did you know that it originated in England in the late 1800s? I always thought that it was an American "thing".
We've got great brunch classics like Eggs Benedict & Eggs Florentine (veggie version of the Benedict with spinach & broccoli) as well as pub grub favourites like a Full Irish Breakfast, Fish & Chips and a Bacon & Sausage Bap.
Now another important aspect to brunch has to be the Bloody Mary, a great cure for a hangover and usually quite necessary on a Saturday/Sunday. What makes it such a good cure for a hangover? It is said that all the vegetables (tomato, celery, horseradish etc.) helps to settle the stomach, the salt helps to replenish lost electrolytes and the alcohol helps to relieve head & body aches
Check out our menu here and call in to us over the weekend for a bit of brunch if you're around the Dublin 4 area.
